Ditch the Ego. Grab your Pack. Join the Fat and Happy Camper Community.

Were bringing together outdoor enthusiasts just like you who believe the trail is for everyone. No gear-shaming, no gatekeeping—just a supportive space for hikers of all shapes, sizes, and abilities.

Nature Doesn’t Gatekeep

As a plus-size or disabled hiker, you know that the outdoor community is full of warm, wonderful people who want to share nature with everyone. But you also know the negativity is real—whether it’s intentional shaming or those overbearing "what-ifs" that steal the joy from your adventure.

And Neither Do We

This is your private campground: a safe space to ask questions, share stories, and get advice from people who have been in your shoes. We are a private community, monitored and maintained by Elizabeth and Scott, where kindness is the rule and joy is the vibe.

In our private forum, you can meet new trail mates, get direct answers to your questions, and get early access to our latest videos and blogs. You’ll even get to suggest and vote on our future topics!

Want To Go A Little Further Into The Woods?

Our other tiers offer monthly Zoom hangouts to discuss camping and hiking in a group setting, or private one-to-one calls to deep-dive into your gear, food, or trip planning.

Scott and Elizabeth at the Grand Canyon

Who are we?

Howdy! I’m Elizabeth, and my partner in life and crime is Scott.

I’m a person who manages a long list of "invisible" challenges: Diabetes, IBS, PMDD, Autism, ADHD, CPTSD, and chronic pain from old injuries. I’ve dealt with depression, anxiety, insomnia, and migraines. Society—and sometimes even my own brain—has told me that my body "shouldn't" be able to do the things I love.

But I’ve clocked the miles anyway. I’ve stood on top of Guadalupe Peak, climbed Angel’s Landing, and spent days deep inside the Grand Canyon on the Hermit and Tonto trails. I am not a doctor, but I have been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to want to do more with a body that feels like it’s holding you back.

Scott is my secret weapon. He’s a lifelong adventurer with a science background, making every hike a learning experience. Plus, his cooking skills turn trail rations into fine dining under the stars.

Together, we’ve seen more and done more than we ever thought possible. We’ve done the trial and error, so you don’t have to. Let us help you reach your goals and prove the "what-ifs" wrong.
